Fraudulent messages and advertisements are increasingly circulating on messaging platforms and fake websites. These scams often impersonate investment management firms or their professionals and may promote fake documents related to various financial products. 

Scammers commonly use tactics such as unsolicited mobile messages, third-party messaging apps, phishing emails, cold calls, or fake websites. Their goal is to entice you to invest in false products that misuse an investment manager's name or logo.

Bio

Sophie Metcalfe is Ausbil’s Business Development Manager for Victoria and Tasmania.

Sophie is responsible for developing and servicing Ausbil’s relationships with financial advisers, licensees, dealer groups, private wealth firms and other wholesale clients throughout Victoria and Tasmania.

She joined Ausbil in 2026 from Antipodes, where she was responsible for intermediary sales across Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania.

She has over 13 years of financial services experience spanning business development, sales and communications. Before joining Antipodes, Sophie held roles with Schroder Investment Management and Fidelity International across Australia and the United Kingdom. Her experience includes wholesale distribution, adviser servicing, strategic account management, investment communications and the development of data-led sales and client-engagement strategies.

Sophie holds a Bachelor of Business, with a double major in Business Law and Management, from the University of Technology Sydney. She has also completed RG146 Managed Investments and the CFA Institute’s Claritas Investment Certificate.
