Ausbil Investment Management has been named the country’s best Australian Equities Fund Manager by SMSF Adviser magazine at its 2021 SMSF Awards.

In the category of Australian equities, Ausbil was shortlisted alongside Macquarie (runners up), Aberdeen Standard, AMP Capital, Bennelong, CFS, Fidelity, Perpetual and Schroders.

In determining the awards, the publication surveys its subscribers, of whom 45% are financial advisers and 50% are accountants who work with SMSFs. Its readership rated Ausbil with the highest overall satisfaction score.

“This award celebrates and acknowledges the companies providing exceptional service to the professionals working in the SMSF advice and accounting space,” said Head of Strategy for SMSF Adviser Richie Marriott. “This particular set of awards is based solely on the experiences and insights of SMSF practitioners who use these services every day. SMSF Adviser is extremely proud to be able to give credit where it is due for the eighth year through the SMSF Awards,” said Marriott.

“We are pleased that our support for the SMSF sector is being recognised,” added Mark Knight, Director and Head of Distribution at Ausbil. “During the past 18 months, navigating sharemarkets has not been easy, but we have remained fully invested throughout, which has benefited our SMSF clients. At the same time we have focussed on delivering thought leadership across ESG and investment issues.”

“We believe what gives Ausbil an edge is our top-down bottom-up investment approach, risk management, coupled with the depth and quality of our ESG research including our engagement with boards and management of Australia’s leading listed companies,” said Knight.
