Paul has over 37 years of financial services experience with companies such as Westpac Banking Corporation’s Investment Management Division, Mercantile & General and Legal & General Asset Management. Paul’s career includes senior roles in management, investment and portfolio management in the funds management industry.
In 1997, Paul co-founded Ausbil where he holds the position of Executive Chairman, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Equities. Paul has been instrumental in building the funds under management at Ausbil to over $9 billion. Paul’s role includes strategy, portfolio construction and input into the investment management of Ausbil’s funds.
Paul is a member and Chairman of Ausbil’s Portfolio Construction Committee.

John has over 25 years of financial services experience with companies such as McNall & Hordern (Sydney), Cazenove & Co (London), Royal Insurance Asset Management (London) and Legal & General Asset Management (Sydney). John’s career includes senior roles in management, stock broking, investment management and portfolio management in the funds management industry. John’s initial grounding in equity analysis came through positions with stockbroking firms McNall & Hordern in Sydney and Cazenove & Co in London.
Whilst in the United Kingdom, John became Portfolio Manager for Royal Insurance Asset Management with responsibility for Asia Pacific Funds. Back in Australia after five years in London, John joined Legal & General Asset Management as Senior Portfolio Manager. In 2001, John moved to Ausbil where he now holds the position of Co-Head of Equities. John’s role includes strategy and portfolio construction, as well as input into the investment management of the Fund.

Gian has over 25 years of financial services experience with companies such as Deutsche Bank, Ellerston Capital, ING and AMP Capital. Gian’s career includes senior roles in management, investment management and portfolio management in the funds management industry. Before joining Ausbil, Gian was a Co-Head of the Australian Fundamental Equities team at AMP Capital.
His primary roles were the management of a long/short equities portfolio, management of a concentrated equities portfolio and overall management of over $7 billion of funds under management. Prior to joining AMP Capital, Gian was Director of Investments Senior Portfolio Manager at ING where he managed concentrated and long short portfolios with funds under management exceeding $10 billion. Gian’s role includes strategy and portfolio construction, as well as research, analysis and investment management. Gian is a member of Ausbil’s Portfolio Construction Committee.

Jim brings to Ausbil over 20 years investment experience, managing multi-billion dollar active fixed interest portfolios for the likes of BT Investment Management, Rothschild Australia Asset management and Commonwealth Bank Financial Services Asset Management. As a highly experienced fixed interest macro strategist and economist, over his career he has demonstrated a consistent skill in adding value to portfolios and translating macroeconomic themes into investment strategies.

Nicholas has 23 years of financial markets experience working in Sydney, London and New York including over 16 years in equity analysis. Prior to joining Ausbil Nicholas worked with Citigroup in Australia and then New York specialising in healthcare and pharmaceuticals equity analysis. Nicholas held earlier positions in structured finance with Bankers Trust in Sydney and equity risk analysis with Commerzbank in London. In 2012 Nicholas was appointed Head of Equities Research at Ausbil.

Brendan has over 15 years’ experience in investment analysis. Prior to joining Ausbil, Brendan was an equities analyst at Citigroup, specialising in Transportation, Infrastructure and Utilities Research, as well as macro Quantitative Analysis. He has also worked internationally, covering high-yield debt/equity markets in Japan and across Asia. Brendan’s initial grounding in financial analysis was formed at UBS, where he was responsible for corporate accounting and valuation. His responsibilities at Ausbil have expanded since joining the firm in 2004 and includes coverage of a broad array of Industrial sectors, as well as Agriculture and Chemicals.

Shanelle has over 9 years of financial services experience with Ausbil. Prior to this, Shanelle has graduate training experience with Ernst & Young and has over 2 years of work experience in consulting with Accenture specialising in airlines and healthcare industries. Shanelle’s career includes equities research, quantitative analysis, IT consultancy and software development.
Shanelle is currently responsible for stock and sector analysis in Media, Telecommunication Services, Software & Services, Online Services and Leisure sectors. Shanelle has previously covered transportation and Infrastructure Trusts sectors. Shanelle is also a CFA Charterholder.

Prior to 452, she worked for Allianz Dresdner Asset Management and Audant Investments, both as a Research Analyst. At Ausbil, Zeljka is responsible for research within the Financials, Diversified Consumer Services and Infrastructure Trust sectors and is also a CFA Charterholder.

Luke is responsible for stock and sector analysis in the resources sector. Luke brings to Ausbil over 15 years’ experience in the resources sector, both at a corporate level and as an equity analyst in financial services. Most recently as a highly rated Director, Senior Energy Analyst at the Commonwealth Bank Institutional Equities, he has also worked as a Commercial Mining Analyst with IndiEnergy, an oil and Gas Analyst with ABN Amro and a Corporate Finance Analyst with Woodside Petroleum.

Tony was most recently at Investors Mutual, where he held the position of Equity Analyst. Prior to IML, Tony spent 8 years at boutique stock broking firm CCZ Equities as their Senior Industrial Equity Analyst, specialising in mid to smaller cap companies. He was also the portfolio manager of their in-house equity fund. Tony holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Avondale College and has completed the CPA Program from the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

Prior to joining Ausbil, Chris was most recently at IML where he was responsible for small cap industrial analysis. Chris is a CFA charterholder and has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University.

Josh Clark is an Equities Analyst within Ausbil’s MicroCap Team. Prior joining Ausbil, Josh worked as a Quantitative Analyst at Bell Potter Securities. Josh also has financial markets experience from his former role at Colonial First State working within the Institutional Clients & Alternate Products team.

Salman is responsible for analysing Ausbil’s large and mid-cap portfolios to assist with investment strategy, portfolio construction and trading.
Prior to joining Ausbil, Salman was a Portfolio Manager at Nikko Asset Management in Singapore and Australia where his responsibilities included trading of futures contracts and foreign exchange, and researching fund managers. Salman has also worked in research, risk management and quantitative analysis roles at National Australia Bank and Forsyth Barr in Australia and New Zealand.

Khay-Tuck Chow has a strong background in quantitative analysis. Prior to joining Ausbil, Khay-Tuck was the quantitative analyst at van Eyk Research where he was responsible for all investment manager quantitative research and asset allocation research for master trust and corporate clients. Previous experience also encompassed development of performance and quantitative software databases and systems, marketing and client servicing.

George joined Ausbil as a graduate in 2010 within the Institutional Client Services Team, where he was in charge of database management, data processing and systems development, among other finance, sales and administrative responsibilities. In 2015 George was promoted to Assistant Quantitative Analyst and is responsible for quantitative stock analysis for Ausbil (through the ranking model). Prior to joining Ausbil, George held positions at General Motors and Westfield.

Matthew began his career in finance in 1999 and has held positions at various companies including Shaw Stockbroking, Retireinvest Financial Planners, Hudson Securities and Tolhurst Noall Stockbroking. At Ausbil, Matthew is responsible for managing all dealing and after-trade allocations for Ausbil’s managed funds. Over the course of Matthews’s employment at Ausbil, Matthew has implemented new trading technologies to best satisfy portfolio implementation and reports daily to Ausbil’s portfolio managers throughout the course of trading hours.
Matthew is responsible for the daily execution of equitizing Ausbil’s portfolios and maintaining index exposures for unfilled positions through verbal communication with Brokers and Broker Futures Desks to name a few. Matthew is committed to maintaining frequent and regular knowledge of developing and existing trading techniques by attending Broker Trading Forums and ASX approved education sessions.
Matthew has previously held a SDIA PS146, SEATS & CLICKS License during his time in Stockbroking.
Lee began his career in stockbroking in 2000 and has held positions at various companies including Hartley’s in Sydney. Prior to joining Ausbil Lee has assisted Brokers dealing with high net worth clients and local institutions. At Ausbil, Lee started his career in middle office duties in 2006 before being promoted into the Equities Dealing role in 2007.
Lee is responsible for managing all dealing and after-trade allocations for Ausbil’s managed funds and is responsible for the daily execution of equitizing Ausbil’s portfolios. Lee maintains index exposures for unfilled positions through verbal communication with Brokers and Broker Futures Desks. Lee holds a SDIA PS146, and will be celebrating his 10 year anniversary at Ausbil in July 2016.

Ross is responsible for Ausbil’s day-to-day management and strategic positioning of Ausbil. Ross has over 30 years’ experience in the finance industry covering asset management, financial planning and stockbroking. Previously, Ross worked with Five Oceans Asset Management, an international funds management business he co-founded in 2005. Prior to this, Ross spent five years with Deutsche Bank in both Sydney and New York and held the positions of CEO of Deutsche Asset Management in Australia and Head of Deutsche Asset Management’s US Mutual Fund business. Ross also worked for Bankers Trust in both New York and Sydney across a variety of management roles.

In his role as Senior Manager Key Accounts, Hik services national dealer groups, as well as financial planners from across the country and in particular his home state of Queensland. Hik has been involved in the financial services industry for almost 20 years. Prior to joining Ausbil, Hik began his working life as an equities dealer / market maker in London at various institutional stockbrokers. Over the course of a decade he worked at Salomon Brothers, CA Investment Bank, Schroders Securities and Citigroup and specialised in European and African Emerging Markets. In between leaving London and joining Ausbil, Hik also spent several years teaching Economics and Mathematics at Brisbane Girls Grammar. The breadth of experience that Hik has gained over the course of his working life so far has led him to feel just as comfortable explaining financial concepts to mums and dads as to highly qualified financial professionals.
